Interfaith Today, episode three
The third show features a recording from listener Mark Denni that he made at a San Leandro, CA, Women of Faith gathering of Women's Federation for World Peace. The purpose of the Women of Faith gatherings is to bring women of different faiths together to share bonds of heart and by sharing to bring peace into the world. This recording features Helen Spector talking about her personal spiritual journey and some discussion of her work with the Parliament of the World's Religions and thoughts on the Interfaith Movement.
Helen kindly provided this biography:
Helen Spector works as an independent organizational consultant, providing strategic planning, vision/values clarification and resource structuring services to values-based organizations, and designing large, multi-stakeholder group processes and gatherings for community and organizations dealing with complex and difficult issues. She has has served as a Trustee of the Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions since 1990, and has held the office of Vice-chair for the Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions since 1999. Currently she co-chairs the Site Selection Task Force for the 2009 Parliament. She was one of the original co-conveners of the Bridge Cooperation Circle of the United Religions Initiative, a Bay-Area group focused on providing a bridge between the two international grassroots interreligious organizations.
So thank you to Mark Denni and Helen Spector and always to Emerald Rose for the music used in this podcast.

Greetings Rowan Fairgrove and Friends of InterFaith Today,
May Peace Be With You.
Upon reading about your programme on the InterFaith News . Net website, I have the opportunity to listen to the first two episodes of your programme. The interFaith programme that you provide is valuable and there is appreciation for your efforts in providing your interFaith programme.
Within your list of interFaith programmes provided within conventional media, it is also beneficial to progress beyond the sovereignty prism: there are two quality programmes provided by the British Broadcasting Corporation: ‘Reporting Religion,’ http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/programmes/reporting_religion.shtml, and ‘Heart and Soul,’ http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/programmes/heart_and_soul.shtml.
Back to InterFaith Today: it is particularly refreshing to listen to a programme provided by an interFaith insider (activist). In this respect, you may also be interested in providing an episode on this InterFaith Settlement. This InterFaith Settlement is an intentional community that welcomes respective religious adherents and respective religious leaders respectively from the many religious traditions of the World, including Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam. Additional information about this InterFaith Settlement can be found at our provisional website, http://geocities.com/interFaithsettlement.
Yet rather than an attempt at self promotion, this is actually, merely a solicitation for the consideration of the premise of this InterFaith Settlement (establishing an actual community, specifically predicated upon interreligious cooperation where the residents, respectively from different religious traditions, substantially rely upon each other in addition to exchanging pleasantries). There are a number of examples of similar intentional communities that already exist and whose participants you may be able to interview: Auroville (an international city in India), www.auroville.org, the International Communes Desk (also a facilitator of the Kibbutzim Movement in Israel), www.communa.org.il, the Global Ecovillage Network (maintaining intentional communities throughout the World), http://gen.ecovillage.org, and the Fellowship of Intentional Communities (maintaining a membership of many different types of intentional communities), www.ic.org.
Your consideration is appreciated.
With humble and benevolent regards,
Peter Frank Womack (with this InterFaith Settlement)
Peace belongs throughout the Universe.
All Praise Belongs To God.
